Dukot (Desaparecidos): A timeless,
fearless film on human rights violation but also a love story

MIKE de Leons Sister Stella L. Lino Brockas Kapit sa Patalim (Bayan Ko) and Orapronobis —are but a few in the short list of significant, political, Filipino films by master filmmakers, which reflected the sentiment of their times.. CDP Events and Entertainment Production will resurrect the political film genre with an important, fearless and timeless piece: Dukot (Desaparecidos). But more than a political film, it is a love story of ill fated couple. Palanca-awardee Bonifacio Ilagan wrote Dukot megged by multi-awarded director Joel C. Lamangan. Leading the cast are Allen Dizon and Iza Calzado, with Snooky Serna, Emilio Garcia,Gina Alajar, Robert Arevalo Felix Roco,Also in the ensemble are: Jim Pebangco,Raquel Villavicencio, Mon Confiado, Rico Barrera,John Apacible, Menggie Cobarrubias, Tony Mabesa and newcomer Armaine Pagcu.

Dukot tackles the issues of human rights violation and extra-judicial killings. Dukot will surely hurt because its an anthology of reality-based stories of the so-called desaparecidos, particularly those activists who have disappeared under mysterious circumstances and who, to this date, have not been heard about by their own families.

What really happens to these desaparecidos and their families? Who are responsible for their disappearances? It could very well be the first full-length film to deal squarely with the current phenomenon of human rights violations in the Philippines ... Executive producer Ms. Carina D. Pagcu of CDP Events & Entertainment Production shares: I cried after reading the script. I got scared, too for its courage and honesty. I talked to my husband We agreed that this may not earn but well pull it through. Well try the international festival circuit and the non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Win or lose, were doing a significant movie.

A Salute to the people behind this film!
