@MrFaisel34 Ron Paul's does not want to shut down the Federal Reserve immediately. What he wants to do is to allow competing currencies to flow into the economy by getting rid of legal tender laws that forces you to use the fed's notes and also get rid of taxation on precious metals. All of that, along with an audit in the Fed, might open the public's eyes to not accept the fiat currency anymore, or to accept it at their own individual responsability. The Fed will collapse by itself...
