The Val Kelly Jazz and Soul Quintet with Steve Hall (bass), Kevin Briggs (guitar), Benet McLean (Piano) and Dominique Pizzinat (drums), playing Ain't No Sunshine - written by Bill Withers in 1971. The song was inspired by the film 'Days of Wine and Roses' and has been recorded 150+ times - Barry White, BB King, Bob Marley, Cat Stevens, Eva Cassidy, the great Isaac Hayes, Jose Feliciano, Jeff Beck., Maroon 5.... and it goes on and on. This version was recorded in the (dark) room of 50 St James, London Club International, London.
