@originalrecoil Yes Ive heard about the two reports of the fatal coyote attacks. Ive never actually seen a wild coyote before.I have always been interested in wolves, coyotes, and foxes. Can you please explain your experiences with the wildlife around your area?

as long as these guys keep their distance we cool, but no worrys at 200 yards they can smell your breath, then they gone haha

We grew up thinking these were bad animals, but they are a necessary part of the environment IMO> smart little bastards too. My grandfather would hunt them, but they keep the small rodents in check, and im sure they catch a small calve or lamb every now and then.

@originalrecoil I live near Plymouth, Massachusetts. Around here, the coyotes are very shy-they are scared stupid of people. However, you do tend to hear them in the wee hours of the morning: it gets really creepy, particularly in the dead of winter.
cool. when we would have bonfires and take magic mushrooms in the woods as a lad, we'd hear this around 4 AM. pretty spooky. that is in Hamilton Ontario in the Dundas Valley. apparently the coyotes here in the East are a coyote / Red Wolf hybrid. is was proven by a DNA study. so they are a lot bigger. I've only seen them once. about the size of a small German Shepherd
R.I.P. to the poor girl who was killed by Coyotes yesterday in Nova Scotia

I live in Rochester, NY. We go up to the stables to see our Horse every day, and around the time it gets to be night, dusk. We'll take our horse to graze out on the side of the barn, and you can hear just down a small trail hill the wild coyotes howling near the pond. First time I heard it I was scared to death, now I find it interesting to hear their howls, though we keep more than a safe distance from that.
