there's a really good blog on how to grow your pixie that references your video!

thanks for the tips! I just strted to document my hair growing out. I'm glad you mention the trimming of the back. I need thinning shears, but can I use regular scissors?

Thanks so much for this video! I'm at the mom-mullet stage and feel sad about it and wish I could have it all long again... I've resisted cutting the back but I think I better do it! I still do not regret getting a pixie - it is very cute and SO easy to deal with.

i actually want a pixie cut and i love the cut of your hair :) but i bet this video will help me in the future :) thanks

This video is awesome and really helpful! I'm in the awkward stage at the moment, will definitely be using these tips. :)

how would you advise I grow out a hair cut where the sides are shaved to the skin, but the top is to my lower cheek? the hair on top gradually gets longer toward the front. so yeah, help?!

Thank you so much!!! I have a pixie, and when I got it cut, it was really aborable. But right now, it's at the really obnoxious stage where the shortest layer is at my cheekbones and I can't do anything to make it look good. >_< I'll take your advice and see how it works for me. :)

Im growing it out to.. but my hair grows pretty fast so.. well the growing out stage is pretty akward but hair grows fast so don't worry and its only HAIR! ;D
Hey not that I expect u to remember but I've comment on ur video (first time u cut ur hair) n I was really inspired, I was about to get a pixie cut but decided not to. A friend told me the growing out phase sucks and not worth getting it cut..I've seen her hair n sometimes she looks like a mom/lord farquad (shrek), I'm still curious about getting it Done but just want to know if it was worth it now that you've passed the exciting phase (1st cut)..?

@MrsPaws1 I would say it is pretty worth it. Sure it takes a LONG time for it to grow back, but you can say to people that you had your hair EXTREMELY short at one point in your life. I always tell myself that hair always grows back. If you don't like it when you do get it, then you will know in the future that its just not for you...you wont be wondering about "what if I got a pixie..". Good Luck!!!!

THIS IS AMAZING! I seriously just searched "growing out a pixie" in the youtube search thingy and I got your video.
Question: When you trim the hair in the back, do you trim straight across? Or does it look okay when it's a bit uneven(because I can't see the back)?

@bonjourimsarahcho ANSWER: With the thinning shears, i did it straight across. I used 2 mirrors to check if it was even (a tiny compact one and the one attached the the wall). If you can't see if you are cutting it evenly, ask a trust worthy friend to help you. Good Luck!

Do you regret getting the pixie?
yazilove95 7 months ago
@yazilove95 No, not at all. I'm glad to say to people that I was able to have almost ALL of my hair chopped off. It certainly was an experience. Of course I had my up and down moments with it, but I mean who doesn't (with any type of hair). The only thing thats painful is growing it out but I do not regret it during this process. I am just fortunate to have fast growing hair (an inch every month) :D Just remember, it will ALWAYS grow back. Good Luck to you and your hair <3
