I went down to the local bike shop and they had a box of junk so I went to purchase a sprocket when the bike guy said I could have two for $5. I went home and got the great idea that I would put one on each side of the bike and use the square shaft from the donor bike . The pedals did not line up as the pedals where different makes so I returned and got one exchanged so they aligned like a ordinary pedal bike. Anyways it works but needs more testing.
Next is to clean up the wiring and cut all pins sticking out for safety. I also need a chain guard for the top sprocket on gearbox. I will show the end results and some tests in my next video.

  • Thanks for the advice.

In video # 10 I installed a kill switch so I control when the motor is on and made it safer to ride. This also made free wheeling easy and complies with some requirements in Europe.

    Thanks

  • hey nice project. I would like to make one suggestion; use a momentary-off switch for both the brakes , so that the motor gets no power when brakes are applied. it makes stopping a lot easier & quicker.
