Hey, I am just using anti-theist standards here, dont get mad at me! According to some anti-theist's it should be a crime and something reprehensible to teach children about God or religion, i.e. to make them believers. They claim this infringes upon the child's mind and what have you, it's an abuse against the child. Yet according to a scientific study, it found that children have a natural tendency to believe in a God, a creator etc. What the scientific study found was that actually those children had a hard time to grasp and understand evolution, that it just didn't compute with their minds. So by the standard of the anti-theist, NOT ME, evolution should not be taught by their own argument, I am simply reversing the argument against them!

  • Well of course, truth usually hurts. So how dare we teach children facts, when their underdeveloped minds veer toward fantasy and fiction? It is the correct thing to not correct any false thinking and accept faulty logic at every turn. We must enforce the belief of Santa Claus, faeries, leprechauns, Bigfoot and so on because children are predisposed to believe these things. Reality be damned !!!

  • JESUS

  • Belief is totally natural to the mind, the cop-out for things you just don't know. Suppositions we create so we can function with our limited perspectives of reality. But... it is the things that aren't natural to our minds that teach us, where we learn, and where we adapt and grow simply beyond our natural orientation, how we can overcome our current limits and create a better future outcome.

  • i smell trolling

  • They should teach both, as theories, neither can be proved of disproved for certain.

  • @shiny94 your religion says that if u believe in Christ u will go to heaven. Well I believe Christ once existed but not god. So what will happen?

  • I don't think that Doctor is legit bro...

  • The belief in a afterlife is caused by the fear of death so it is natural for those people who were put on a island to believe in god. Also I was raised a christian but am now a atheist because in my social studies class they taught me I have the freedom to chose my religion so I chose atheism

  • evolution is a real thing if you believe it isn't you need to go back to school

  • @shiney94 Evolution isn't a matter of "belief". We use the word belief to describe the process of subscribing to a thesis without firm evidence or proof. Evolution is proven beyond any sensible doubt in many many ways and with a mind boggling array of evidence. Therefore you must accept it unless your brain is pathologically trapped in a world of delusion and fantasy.
