What is so heartbreaking when I watch scenes like this is that she really believed that he would come back to her no matter what. To her the love they felt for each other was so strong it could outlast everthing and everybody. I felt the same way when I watched this then. I always waited for S&B to get back together. When he finally left her it took a long time for me to forgive him. (Marrying Carly didn't help...LOL).

Las Vegas was picked up for another season. I read somewhere that VM said if Brenda was ever recast she would not reprise the role after that.

That is why I stopped watching GH as well. I couldn't bear to watch Sonny without the love of his life and then watch Brenda's spot be replaced by that shrew, someone the old Sonny wouldn't have looked twice at. The Sonny I fell in love with died when Brenda left.

@Steeellaaa I so agree with you. I wrote on another video that I think Vanessa and Maurice were falling in love with Sonny and Brenda as S&B were falling in love and you could definitely see it come across in every scene they had together. For Guza to mess that up because he had an agenda for Sonny is unforgivable. The only thing that derailed his plans is Maurice leaving/returning and Vanessa ultimately leaving. I shudder to think what they would be if she had been on the show all this time

Yeah, I think KH tempered his crap and provided cohesion, but the tone started to bother me. KH was the interim & was a part of the Labine crew. She also wrote last weeks ring eppy. She's not renewing her contract this year, tho :-( But still, I effing loooath that he started to rewrite them as toxic because it was NOT true and it diverted the REAL and more dramatic issues that prevailed and have never even been addressed. Nevertheless, V&M elevate any material and rock the hell out of this.

@celgrl28 ....it began, I understand completely. My point was Guza smudges shit on paper and calls it writing, the current writing on GH is horrendous. S&B, rarely, share scenes but the majority of the town has an opinion about them but it is not based upon what they have witnessed....but what they have heard. What?! So I get where you are coming from and agree that Guza has ruined a once great show.

@Steeellaaa Yep, I think Guza came on circa 96 or 97 something like that, and was writing with Karen Harris(I heard something about her leaving, a few months ago. I don't know if she has already or if that was even true). I digress, now I don't know how much input Karen had in this clip but to me this is what great soap writing is. Guza was writing when Lily died and even that was a great scene. Now that you have clarified your point about the rebundancy of the toxicity of S&B and where......

Well, Guza is responsible for the writing in this clip. I believe he was co-head writing the show at this time which was just after Labine left. Anyway, my point was that he started that whole bullshit about their love being toxic along with all the other cruel habits that he saddled Sonny with during this time. You can kinda see him loose his vulnerablities and become less dimensional. S&B started their redundant and destructive cycles then, too. Those were the differences I noticed.
