Looks pretty good in my opinion, but I know what it feels like to end up using crummy brushes, especially when they end up screwing up what was going to be a masterpiece. I must say though, I really enjoy watching you do this kinda of artwork (girls or not :p).
Thanks! No masterpiece :), I was just going to practice starting a painting without making a sketch first. I wanted to try the method whereby you sort of sculpt the details out of the initial broad strokes. But painting on top of a pencil sketch seems more natural to me.
Thank you. The brushes are custom brushes for photoshop, and I used a broad oil brush first, then a chalkbrush and lastly a random brush for some details in the face and clothing. The music is by an excellent danish band called "Mew". "And the glass handed kites" is a good cd by them.

I think it looks good. You definitely got the figure proportions down correctly. What brush is it? What's the music?
