I'm sorry but some people do not know these facts that are indeed common sense... It's sad how ignorant how some people can be.

this video is informative and nicely done. however generally history written by some historians specially Arrian, curtis and couple more for ancient times are not to be fully trusted or agreed upon as historical facts. History written by these authors are possibly based on facts, however they are interpreted in ways to make reading more enjoyable by the author. for more info see Edward Carr's work.

Thank you for the nice comment and for the recommendation on Edward Carr, I will try to find some of his work on Alexander.

Never the less, note a few very important details:

1. Arrian lived in around 100 AD which is much closer to Alexander's time.

2. Arrian was Anatolian-Greek and understood the ancient Greek writings.

3. He had access to works that are lost today, both from Alexander's time and from later historians.

I don't trust Arrian's story to be 100% true but I think that most is true

My pleasure. I admire Alexander very much (almost as much as I admire Leonidas) and sometimes, I think that he was sent by the Olympian Gods, to punish Persians for what they did in Athens 100 years before. Never the less, I consider that he should not have burned Persepolis...
