Bette is a one-of-a-kind artist. I wish people don't have to pass on. I just had a thought of "Now Voyager", when she made her "wow" entrance on the ship all glamorized, she is so gorgeous!
Might you have any of the these tv films? Or are they posted somewhere? There was another that she did with Lillian Gish, two elders sisters? Might you know of that one? The circa 1950 transition from "Movie star" to "tv star" was a huge evolution because tv was a new thing. (Twenty years before the future 70s). But in 1958 she was brilliant in "Fraction of a Moment", I think was the name of the tv film. Absolutely, Bette Davis was awesome in any work and deserving of many awards.
In her autobiography, she actually stated that she loved doing tv movies because they often had more depth than the films being made for cinema in the late 70s and 80s."White Mama" was a brilliant tv film, as was "Right of Way" and "Strangers" which Bette actually won an Emmy for.
@Eyllek2 maybe but didn't she handle her money better? Or was working on this project a huge wake up call? Anyway, later in life she did a lot of tv projects and interviews. I read that she did not like tv--- but it paid.
That first piece must have been extremely difficult for her to play since she was getting older & parts were harder to come by. It could have been her at any moment.
poor thing.
