德國漢堡被歐盟封為「綠色之都」,10年前已全面停用堆填區,廢物由焚化爐處理,減少對環境影響之餘,產生的能源可供市民使用。政府並制定非常有效的減少廢物措施,推行廢­物回收制,要求市民做好廢物分類,實行用者自付,加上回收基建設施完善,市民都樂意配合。香港每日產生18,000噸廢物,三個堆填區又陸續爆滿,香港可否向漢堡借鏡?

  • Not only can the ashes be used for making concrete bricks, incineration can reduce volume of garbage by over 90% and the heat generated can be used for electricity generation. Unfortunately, HK has got no incineration for city garbage. Our trash are buried in landfills, contrary to what most of the big cities are doing.

    While we should try our best to reduce waste, maybe it's time to modernize our way of treating our rubbish!
