J.K. Rowling, author of the "Harry Potter" series of books, gives her opinion on British rock icon, Morrissey

Widely regarded as an important innovator in indie music, Morrissey has been described by music magazine NME as "one of the most influential artists ever," and The Independent has stated that "most pop stars have to be dead before they reach the iconic status that he has reached in his lifetime." Pitchfork Media has called him "one of the most singular figures in Western popular culture from the last 20 years."

Morrissey's lyrics have been described as "dramatic...bleak, funny vignettes about doomed relationships, lonely nightclubs, the burden of the past and the prison of the home." He is also noted for his unique vocal style. His forthright, often contrarian opinions have led to a number of media controversies, and he has also attracted media attention for his advocacy of vegetarianism and animal rights.

  • I love JK rowling , and it makes sense why she loved morrissey and the smiths ...If you understand her background .

  • To quote jack dee:

    Harry fuck face potter

  • @lindemikko

Indeed...If he was just a songwriter he seriously would be up there with Dylan, Bragg, and maybe even Jimmy Webb in my opinion the best song writer that has ever been.

PS I don't like his hair either...

  • @rorrt

If you can enjoy the art but hate the artist then you've got a better attitude than most people.

  • @lindemikko Sure. After all, human grandiosity does tell us that we matter.

  • @andross637

Despite the nihilism I don't think I'll be listening to Gwen Stefani any time soon.

  • Oh fuck all this fartsniffing. Life means nothing, so fire on something upbeat while you're here.

  • I love Morriseys writing, hes a really good songwriter, up there with Billy Bragg and Bob Dylan in my opinion.

Its just the other parts that makes me dislike him, its the politics, the singing, the dancing, the demeanour, the attitudes towards meat and the royal family makes me dislike him

  • She can f**k off, i just want her f**king money. Lame b*tch
