Everybody can go to McDonalds or Burger King to buy a meal... it will fill them up, is cheap(ish) and meets some preconceived expectations. But people who want good nutrition, great experiences and results will choose to visit a decent restaurant where the chef individually prepares the food for the client. Don't know where that metaphore is going but its nearly there!

I would much rarther pay for the services of a web designer, than pick a template that everyone and thier mom has. Most of the people I deal with would rarther have a uniqe website, as well as somebody to express thier ideas to.

The free website services can actually get a web-designer work too, because sometimes people find they want something they got for free customized and they just aren't skilled enough to do it, or just don't have the time to get it set up how they want.

I to date NEED a $1,200 Louis Vuitton duffle bag even thouh 1. I hardly travel 2. Im not a celebrity (obvously) 3. I cant afford it. And athough I know a that Macbook Pro costs $1 less ;) I still want the duffle :P Why? Marketng... Rappers like Nicki Minaj and Kanye West preach LV... Result: monkey see, monkey do... Happens to the best of us. It's an ideology thing... I have a Blackberry because I want a Blackberry and not because I want a phone... And I'd LOVE a Range Rover for the obvious ;)

I disagree. People will not spend until they see the need. The put up some cheap stuff and later realize they need to upgrade. Once they do it themselves, then they realize it takes shit load of time, and it needs a pro. Then they look for a pro.
