KABC Los Angeles analog to digital transition moment June 12, 2009

The final moments of the analog signal and transition to digital signals at KABC-TV 7 Los Angeles at 12.00 PM on the dot today. The image quality sucks, I know. I use cable TV.

And yes, I know very well filming your old TV with a camera is the lamest thing on youtube. I threw away my VCR back in 1999 so I didn't have one to record this moment. But, hey, this is better than nothing isn't it? ;)

TV did not have to go digital there was no need for it

the government just wanted your money that is why they did it

TV really needs to switch back to analog

because the converter boxes did not work out and nobody likes the switch

The digital transition sucks im out here in californa with some relatives and the digital transition sucks ass! whenever something good is on the thing just cuts me off and besides digital looks sounds is just like any other thing beforee it

Good job on catching the transition off your TV screen. This was exactly what I saw on KABC that morning on my analog TV, which I later connected to my converter box that evening.

No apologies needed for the video quality. In the early days of TV, they recorded shows off the screen with film, a technique called "kinescopes" (look it up on Wikipedia), so you're in good company.
