"We need a bailout for OUR community," John Avalos welcomes Occupy San Francisco to the Financial District on October 12, 2011.

"Rather than accept the Shock Doctrine on us, We are gonna Shock Doctrine back the wealthiest with our fight for justice, our fight for healthcare, our fight for free education, our fight for affordable housing, our fight for the future."

John Avalos tied the struggle of the Occupy Wall Street movement to local San Francisco struggles for justice, housing, free education, affordable healthcare- a Reverse Shock Doctrine against the 1%.

"The banks got bailed out, we got sold out."

But Economic Justice is becoming possible, he said. "We need a bailout for our community."

  • John, how about protecting our basic rights? My care animals have been taking from me, because of a harassing property management group in San Francisco. I have contacted your office at city hall along with Jane Kims. The only response I got was that I need to go to the tenants union. I believe in you, however it is difficult when your campaign manager calls me insignificant. How many others have been told the same thing! You have some power now, how are you currently helping the 99%.
