Matthew 23:23 is pretty clear that Jesus said we ought to tithe!!!! ...and it happens to be in the New Testament!!!

it is simple: if you are trying to bribe God or buy His wrath off, then the offering, tithe, or whatever is an abomination and we take Him to be a complete idiot if we think He is to be taken in by it

@mivoice62 Good move :) that guy sound like he is building a cult. Tithe to poor people. Amazing insight, straight from the heart of Jesus. I doubt if Jesus ever paid tithe to built the 2nd Jewish Temple Herod built. These days money and tithe is collect for building church construction and not much for the people.

Imma just throw this verse out there cuz a lot of people get dis info tithing is not required but it comes with a promise if u do it, but in Luke 20:20-26 talks about paying ur taxes He said to them,"then give what belongs to Caesar what is Caesars,and to God what is Gods. We're do y'all think money for ministry comes from I'm not even a pastor but I do know what Gods word says

If you tithe you are placed back under the Law so you are required to keep all the Law or you are cursed! Give don't tithe, be free for God loves a cheerful giver! Be free!

I studied this topic a few years back...share it with my pastor...tithing is not a new testament teaching...give what you purpose in your heart to give to the church aka: the PEOPLE!! my pastor told me to keep my mouth shut and never talk about this to anyone in the church! needless to say I left that church.

Here's what I see in scripture. Old testiment 10% tithes plus, offerings and alms. New testiment 100% of everything is the Lords. First our Lives, Speaking and Living The WORD, making Disciples, taking care of the Brehtren then giving to the poor. Agape
