New Jersey State Police

Flying W Airport
Lumberton, New Jersey
Saturday October 11, 2008

IN THIS VIDEO, watch as the New Jersey State Police perform an insertion demonstration with their S-76 over Flying W Airport as part of the airport's Car Show, which was postponed after being affected by the remnants of Tropical Storm Hanna.

Like what you've seen? Well, if you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .

  • You are correct. N9NJ is used as such.

  • N9NJ IS setup for Medevac. Otherwise, a good synopsis.

  • Yes, N9NJ is also a Sikorsky S76. I forgot about that one in the line-up. The sikorsky's are their medevacs, the Bells' are for "other" NJSP jobs- executive transports, surveilance, anything else that that want.

  • actually i have seen N9NJ do a medivac in cape may for someone who had been hit on a bicycle

  • the landing gears are on hydrolics so its like a kneeling bus in a way

  • "usmarines911" is partiall correct. The NJSP has 5 Sikorsky S76-B's in their fleet N8NJ, and N9NJ are not for medevac transport. 3 are configured for medevac transport (the one above) "NorthSTAR and SouthSTAR" N1NJ, N5NJ, N7NJ. The landing gear on the S76 choppers are all the same whether for medevac or regular transportation. The NJSP also has Bell 206 Long Rangers N2NJ, N3NJ, N4NJ in their fleet for anything else BUT medevac transport.

  • o we only have one that does medevac so to me the gears seem short

  • this helo can do that to but the njsp has 3 choppers this one is really more of medivac i know ive worked with it

  • well my county also has a police/medevac heli, but its a bell 407 with regular skids it does everything from night long lining to searching for criminals and little children

  • well it a medivac chopper it make it easier to load the stecher
