Republicans to Unemployed: Go Pee in a Cup

Republicans would like the unemployed, who of course aren't feeling quite low enough about being jobless, to take drug tests before receiving unemployment benefits.

And unemployment is usually out of desperation. denying someone the right to food and shelter because they smoked a joint 2 weeks ago is disgusting. :/ Perhaps for long term welfare recipients but even then, I dunno...

Sorry dude but I agree with the bill. If you have to take a drug test to get a job, why shouldn't you have to take one to get unemployment?

I agree. You should need to pass a drug test. That's your paycheck. At jobs you have to pass a drug test. You fail the test no unemployment.

I agree with an earlier statment - random drug tests for everyone in congress.  they are (supposeably) public servants and should be answerable to the public. we should be able to know if our public servants are serving drug free.

Want to increase crime? Pass that bill. Want to be less safe (Republicans included), pass that bill. Desperate people will resort to desperate measures. If I was ever in that position, I would head straight for the richest neighborhood in town. No point in robbing the poor.

How dare these people say we are all drug addicts? I grad from a 4 yr nursing program w/ honors in 2010. Unable to find work over a 100 mile radius (cannot afford to move & it is no better in any other state). Told because I have no nursing experience. Tutored nursing for a while in a community college.Contract not renewed = state funding for position cut. I get $109 per week as it was only part time and that runs out in Jan. Never used drugs in my life, dont drink or smoke cigs. Want job!
