You seem to have overlooked the fact that she actually has a Masters degree in Opera (ie, she is a classically trained soprano). She chose musical theatre over opera, much to her teacher's chagrin, following the acquisition of her degree because the show Animal Crackers came along. But she is essentially an classic soprano.

yes she is brilliant, amazing, in both singing(musical and opera) and acting. that's why i admire her so much. however, i disagree with your 'THAT low' referring to POTO. POTO is a beautiful, phenomenal musical. i enjoy watching Kristin's performances in Wicked, which is also a great musical.

I couldn't agree more Kevin, and said as much, myself not far below. Every time I return to this video (often!) I enjoy it even MORE than I did the last time.

Have you heard Diana Damrau do this, by the way? Her voice is more powerful and "operatic," but she TOO projects the gleefully comic, wickedly satirical quality to a kind of perfection all her own.
