Military interpreters in rural southwest Afghanistan put themselves on the front line without a weapon every day, working alongside US Marines as they encourage local villagers to help them fight the Taliban insurgency. But these men in the remote villages of southwest Farah province say the hope of a passport to the United States and the chance to serve their country make the dangerous, poorly paid job worthwhile.
