Notice the Marin County housewife still has her $40K Volvo in the driveway. I don't think it's realistic to think that "struggling" people will drop their car and buy a $1,000 bike to save money. However supplementing your car with a bike, to reduce emissions, save fossil fuels and get exercise is a GREAT IDEA!

Thanks for your feedback. I encourage you to watch the updated trailer, and visit my site (see above) where you'll find I'm maybe 1/3 housewife, 1/3 professional filmmaker and 1/3 open-minded idealist. Our Volvo was purchased used (a fraction of $40K) when we had kids. It is the first car I've owned and it has come in handy! I'm not asking, nor do I expect "struggling" people--or anyone else--to go car-free now. That said, a $1,000 utility bike can pay for itself pretty damn quick these days!

There wasn't a single cargo bike shown that cost under a $1000. Sure, if you got the money it's worth it, but not everyone has the money. They need to shown some homebuilt stuff in there. D.I.Y.

Actually Xtracycles are featured prominently here. They are created by converting almost any bike with a Free Radical conversion kit for about $300. Also, this is only a trailer for what will become a feature-length doc. For that I have received footage from Joe Biel of Tom's (DIY) Cargo Bikes in Portland and plenty of other great homemade cargo bike footage from other members of the FB group. BTW more and more often I hear about folks buying a cargo bike to SAVE money...

Will take out F*** democratic party, not sure about shortening harsh opening. To me the real magic is in that--no matter how much tragic crap we carry around in the back of our minds, and no matter how bad my morning is, it is ALL better once we are on the bike.

Awesome! Can't wait to see the "movie." I feel inspired! If it wasn't 50+ miles to work, I would totally consider a bike commute. May be a change in employer or career in my future!
