To follow up on our Microserver unboxing and overview video we show you how to disconnect the cabling then remove the motherboard in the HP Microserver. We then proceed to take a quick look at the motherboard, upgrade the RAM, then reinstall everything back into the server.

  • hello can i ask 2 questions can i install windows 7 ultimate 64bit on this and will it run a minecraft server (bukkit) on with a ethernet card and 8gb ram.

  • @1potato2potato345 Yes you can install Windows 7 (in any edition you wish), and it will run a MC server just fine with 8GB RAM. It already has a half decent gigabit ethernet card on the motherboard so you shouldn't need to buy an extra one :)

  • @AptivaGaming thank you i was just wondeing cause atm u can get £100 off btw i have 6.00mbs download and about 0.70 upload would this run to abut 30 player on bukkit server

  • @1potato2potato345 While the micro server with an 8GB RAM upgrade would easily be enough to power a 30 play minecraft server (4GB RAM would do well actually), you upload speed is lacking. I would say you should be OK to have up to 15 players but you can experiment and see how much lag your players experiance. With only .7MB/s available you may only be capable of 10 players.

  • I'm guessing this guide is exactly the same for the N40L? thanks!

  • At 4:42 there are three heat sinks ? Are there two physical CPU's or just one physical CPU's ?

    thanks.

  • TIP:

Once you've unscrewed the thumb screws; you can slide the motherboard tray out partially; makes it a lot easier to disconnect the cables from the motherboard
