Our pet stoat we rescued playing

EDIT: due to a lot of people asking I want to clarify that the stoat was released ages ago, and yes poor thing was probably eaten but at least it got a better chance than it had otherwise

EDIT 2: The noises in the background are my pet finches, yeah they sound like squeaky toys. :)

  • do they have a distinctive smell? like ferrets?

  • Oh dear god yes but only when frightened

  • That stoat seem cool do you still own it? Cause if you released it I hope that poor little stoat dosnt fall prey to a coyote, wolf, fox or badger. Like I saw a coyote killed and eat a stoat in my yard the other day.

  • No coyotes or wolfs around where I live though it's very likely a fox got it. Such is life though at least we gave it a chance.

  • This is like a ferret on 10 espressos LOL

  • It's too bad you released him. She looks like he was really enjoying her life. Most people think that animals out in the wild live a life of sugar drops and cupcakes. They honestly don't have a clue. Expecially if the animal was raised by humans and not taught how to hunt or survive. I'm not trying to raz you for releasing her. You had to do what you had to do. I'm just annoyed at people cursing you because of their misconceptions.

  • @vagoperezoso Who the hell said stoats were a threatened species? O.o I'm informed that their population is doing fine.

  • @unbrokenjack GREAT! which means i can keep it until its death

seriously, haven't you thought that this is maybe the best way to recover populations from threatened animals? breeding them safely in our houses.

  • @vagoperezoso The person you replied to was referring to /young/ wild animals. They become dependent on you as a "mother figure" and don't learn the necessary skills they need to survive. If you release them into the wild, over 90% of the time they will have absolutely no clue where to start life and will die off quick, dependent on species.

  • someone told me i had to have a license to get a stoat.... do you?

  • @SvenTviking ok, next time I rescue an animal from the wild, I will keep it forever with me and not release it to do its natural life, that's what you want me to do, don't you, asshole?

  • Stop giving your pets meth @___@

  • If you had a pet bunny that would be BAD!

  • If you take on a young wild animal, you become resposable for it. If you release it back into the wild, 90% of the time it wont make it. Thats cruel. And its your fault. Is it fair on a creature you have tamed, and made dependant on you?

  • I want one so bad

  • If your keeping a stoat as a pet what do you feed them.
