This is such a fun song from "One Of A Kind". I just played the arrangment with a couple of his trademark fills but for the most part I played it as though I was playing it in a band. Bruford is very difficult to copy note for note because he is so weird. Thanks.

  • dude. u should at least put a backing track on. boring. u did a great job with the syncopations and odd meters but cmon dude.

  • @dantheguitarman88 read the comments from me responding to others about why I didn't have any background tracks. Thanks for listening. Ken

  • Nice effort. Very difficult to pull any of his stuff off verbatum...

  • Thank you.

  • Pretty good.

The first 3 Bruford albums are probably on my list of favorite albums.

I just learned the bass solo and main theme to Joe Fraiser, and was very very hard to play.

  • I added the extra ride parts in the begining so my friend would know where I was and the hihat part during the cool keyboard solo/grooves was for the same reason. All of the Bruford albums had a powerful influence on me. I remember the first time I heard the album "Feels good to Me". I haven't been the same since! Glad to hear you are learning the stuff, good luck and let me know if you post any of it. Looks like I am also the only person playing with a left hand lead too to this song.

    -Ken

  • ma vergognati!!!

  • @hatrossrig I listened to my recording against the tape and I was very close. While playing I was recording myself to the track in another channel. After I recorded myself I listened back and I was very very close to Bruford. The song does waver in time a bit on the recording but while I recording this I could hear the music much louder than myself. Even though I made this more than a couple of years ago when I listen to it now I hear the song in my head. I am not far off on the timing .

  • I just sent you an email too - I play keyboards and am playing this tune out in the spring at a prog rock festival and need a drummer for this, other Bruford, Holdsworth, Ponty, Genesis, Gentle Giant, Happy the Man, etc... Please check your email and respond.
