Pete singing "The Dance" Living with Huntington's Disease

I finally caught Pete in the mood to sing at home and let me record a video. He was diagnosed with HD in November 2004 after going through a lengthy neuro-psychological exam. The disease is progressing very slowly for him. So far he has trouble with cognition specifically with multi-tasking, attention and concentration, short-term memory, sense of time and the ability to begin and end tasks, he gets stuck on an idea or task, has a lack of impulse control and irritability.

Knowing that Huntington's is the cause of all of this makes it much easier for those around him to understand why and how to deal with the problems. Although it is frustrating for Pete to live with all these symptoms and hard knowing the disease will take over his entire body, he is thankful that he knows exactly what he's dealing with and he's planning his future accordingly and praying for a cure at the same time.




Because this disease is genetic, Pete has already seen his grandmother, mother and sister succumb to Huntington's.

I couldnt agree more with the lyrics of this song.I cant tell u how much this speaks to me. Pete has such a lovely voice and u can tell he feels every word..Thank u so much for posting this (as much as it made me cry ) please keep strong and never lose hope.Its thanks to people like u that make people like me feel less alone and keep hope alive and for that I thank u.
