@shalonwee If you're talking about the scene where the Princess uses a candle to see his face, it's because if anyone sees his face while he's human he'll become the witch's prisoner and have to marry her...

@SkywalkerDreamer the movie is made in both norwegian and english. just because you live in america and have seen it in english, doesn't mean it's primarily in english. that's rubish and quite condescending. the actors are norwegian and swedish, which is a sort of que point you don't get from the english version. being norwegian and growing up with this story and the movie, i know it. of course the movie is in english in the us. the music and singing is traditional norwegian.

@Simlishcheese Actually, the book is based on the same fairytale this movie is based on: East O the Sun and West O the Moon. Edith Pattou stated in an interview that this is her favorite fairytale, and hence the reason for her rewrite of it.

Oops, sorry to see that the upload wasn't working out. For anyone who's griping about not being able to see it, it looks like the untranslated version is available. Der Eisbärkönig Valemon youtube.com/user/diutiscfolc . Watching the untranslated version is hardcore, but worthwhile :)

Thank you so much for uploading this. This is one of my favorite 'unknown' movies. The music and the scenery are so beautiful, and I love the themes of childbirth, and how in the end it's a woman rescuing the man (after he originally 'rescued' her by taking her with him). This movie is unique.
