Chords are G, C, and D for both...very easy to play. enjoy!

  • i think i can get the repeated notes and intervals pretty good

  • If you're singing at 95% - you suck. If you are at 100% - you're ok.

  • One reason the singer on the commercial sounds so good is that he's precisely singing an intricate melody. Many people (like you, and me) don't intuitively hear where the repeated notes and the scales fall. Sometimes there are tricky intervals. The rhythm is easier but you have to get that right as well. You have to nail all that or you sound like crap. If you aren't even singing the right notes, how can you be good?

  • You have to get to 110% before you get in the range of "good." It's not easy, it really takes some work. Even Celine Dion took 5 years of dedicated practice to get there.

  • If you don't have a metronome, or it's not loud enough, or any other excuse, invest money until you get one that works for you.

Your singing will improve 1000% if you will memorize and practice the melody note for note. The easiest way to do that is to use a good sheet music that has the melody written out. The hard way is to work the melody out yourself on the piano and write it down and then memorize it and practice.

  • Get a guitar tuner and use it.

Work with a metronome until you can play the song at a steady tempo, neither rushing, dragging, nor hesitating, all of which you do in this clip. Especially since you are a drummer, this is an absolutely crucial skill. Don't listen to any ignorant naysayers that say that a metronome is not the way to go - they don't know what they are talking about. Working with a metronome is required, there's no other way.

  • good playing but the singing not so good
