My Scarborough RT tribute video. Please note that the "fate" of the SRT in the credits is completely made up and should not be taken seriously.

  • after taking a tour of McCowan RT carhouse ir eally want the RT to stay and even get upgraded to MkII

  • @g4tech I wish I could have made the tour. The infrastructure would have to be heavily modified to accommodate the Mark II/IIIs. Better would be to used Siemens-Duewag SD160s, only requirement is overhead catenary.

  • Nice pics and footage of the SRT! But shouldn't that 'fate of the SRT' be taken more seriously now because of Rob Ford's transit plan?

A Bloor-Danforth subway extension could replace the line, either by going through the same corridor or a new route, eventually but definitely not as soon as 2015. Apparently the SRT is going to need new vehicles soon which could prompt a change in technology.

BTW Thanks for the video you sent on Christmas Day!

  • @DodgeballGuy1 I made this video in July and I hadn't studied Ford's transit plan in great detail. It was mostly based on a number of fantasy maps I had seen previously. Personally I would rather see the SRT replaced with proper LRT as the existing infrastructure is better suited to it and there is more potential for expansion. Since Transit City is delayed the TTC is going to buy 1994-built Mark Is from Vancouver to increase capacity and hold down the fort until they can do the conversion.

  • Name of the song please?
