Picture Your family taken from Your home at gun point. This is not about Japanese Americans, but ALL Americans. Ask yourself, "How have I helped to take away another American's Constitutional Rights?" Look to those we've demonized and dehumanized, Muslims Americans? Actions we all seek to justify. "They deserve it because..." Americans with food allergies? Americans without health ins? Don't deny it the shame, own it. Don't be naive. Stand back and observe.

My Grandfather was a hard working , successful farmer in Pomona when the family was "relocated" to the Heart Mountain camp. He lost his farm and , after the war, had to start over again as a gardener... no bitterness, not a word of complaint...just grateful that his sons had survived the war as many, who joined the US military out of the camps, had not...

I will never understand the inhumanity we displayed. We should hang our heads in shame.

Big part of San Bruno History.!!!

But i feel bad for what happened to our fellow Japanese Americans... But thank God thats in our past and as we look back to that time in our history we know never to make such a mistake or do such a thing again.

My mother was in the Minidoka, ID, camp during WWII. I've had people tell me the most ignorant things, like the forced internment was to PROTECT the Japanese-Americans from vigilante retaliation.

I feel bad for the elderly who were forced from their homes, lost their valuable, imprisoned in the camps and may have died there, never able to taste freedom again.

It was NOT an evacuation, it was forced removal.
