I figured a lot of people would be curious about the two graphics cards in the new MacBook Pro, myself included (this is the first time i have ever tried it also). It looks richer and much clearer than single graphics and the old macbook pro.

  • 3:29 well your not alone.

Interesting video I am getting the 13 MacBookPro soon but it does not have 2 Graphics Cards it has the integrated one.

Altho I might wait Apple might update it to 2 never know.

  • it's hardly a macbook pro, they just renamed it because it looks like the real macbook pro. hope you're happy! i recommend the more expensive one if you can afford it, the graphics suck on the cheaper one.

  • Well I cant afford extra $600 I have the MacBook that they screwed over by changing the name 6 months later. But recently ended up needing FireWire. So I have to pay $400 after paying $1900 just to get a tiny bit more power and FireWire. Plus the cost went down $200. So Im a bit mad at Apple right now.

Why release a product when its going to be replaced.

What do you think about the 15 inch macbookpro that only has one graphics card the one thats in the 13 Mac.

  • wow i didn't even notice that the cheapest macbook pro only has one graphics card now. no wonder it's so cheap. i say if you can afford it, go for the 15 inch, but if not, go for the more expensive 13.

  • Yup thats another maddening thing. I plan to buy the 13 MacBookPro with 500gb HD. in the future i will upgrade the ram. If I could afford it I would buy the more expincive MacBook Pro. Oh plus they removed the Express card slot and replace it with Sd card readers. To get the expansion card you need the 17 MacBookPro.

I have a 21.5 inch HP display with 1920x1080 resolution so the 13 inch is not a problem.

  • hmm well, i have 2 gb of ram, and it's not an issue. 2 is more than enough, only upgrade to 4 if you do hardcore video editing while composing several symphonies, playing a few video games, and watching porn... all at once XD. for everything else, 2gb is more than enough to handle everything.

and i wish they got rid of this stupid express-card slot before, cuz i need the sd reader. oh well, a usb-reader only costs like $15 at best buy.

  • finally, someone explains!

  • Even tho you can get both on at the same time it doesn't give you any graphical advantage.

    Reasons:

    1. SLI Must have 2 of the same cards (9600/9400 nope)

2.Mac Does not support SLI anyways, just recognizes it as 2 cards)

    3.Gonna kill your battery faster

IMO apple should have just put a faster card in rather then 2 slow ones

A 9650 is considerably faster then the 9600

    even a 8700 is

The best card they could us imo is a 9700m gts good power/performance compared to the 9800m gts and 9600

  • how good is the graphics on the 15 inch macbook pro with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 256MB

  • is this the 13 or 14 inch

  • @coolerdude44 i don't know, when using Final Cut Pro, i used 9 gb of my 18 gb of ram in my Mac Pro. and the xpresscard slot is very useful. you can add extra FireWire 800, esata, or a 64 GB SSD.

  • @coolerdude44 i recommend a mobile i7 laptop with a GTX 280m...just more worth the money (im not a hater) i just hate mid and low end graphics

  • But the reason I have the display is for editing and when i need the extra space. I don't usually do that kind of work when im not at home but sometimes i do.
