A slam dunk (or simply a dunk) is a type of basketball shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball downward through the basket with one or both hands over the rim. -Wikipedia
Just because howard didn't grab the rim, doesn't mean it wasn't a dunk. he put the ball in downward, so it's a dunk!

I love how nate robinson dunked over 6'11 dwight howard in a dunk contest and gets huge crowd reactions an vince carter dunked over a 7'1 foreign dude and it was in a game but still nate's got more popularity

@whitesox2552 I'm pretty sure Carter's dunk over Weiss was pretty blown up at the time. lots of people call it the greatest dunk of all time... no one ever said that about Nate. I mean even Carters own Dunk Contest performance is a lot more well known and respected than Nate's
