NEA: Heroes or Zeroes

Teachers all across the country are required to pay for union representation in order to engage in their profession. If a teacher refuses to pay, the union can often have her fired.

What's worse, unions use collective bargaining money for political activity, often in direct violation of teachers' views.

The Attorney General of Washington and a group of teachers are taking this issue to the U.S. Supreme Court in two cases against the Washington Education Association. The Court is expected to announce in early October whether it will take the case.

What a bunch of crap. The NEA is the CHOSEN representative of SOME teachers. Others are represented by OTHER organizations. Some, sadly, choose to have none at all.

The NEA is NOT every public school teacher in America. And it's NOT like "every other union", although working for better pay and conditions for teachers WILL improve education...The NEA has at it's utmost goal BETTER SCHOOLS AND BETTER EDUCATION FOR OUR KIDS. The right wants to promote revisionism, and vouchers HARMING education.

The undersigned employees of the US Public School System do NOT want to be represented by the National Education Association. Should the undersigned make up 30% or more of the bargaining unit, the employees hereby petition the NLRB to hold a decertification election. Should the undersigned make up 50% or more of the bargaining unit, the employees hereby request that US Public Schools withdraw recognition from the NEA immediately.

The NEA/AEA are the single biggest impediment to good education in this nation, by a BIG margin!

They do what all good unions do, they take care of their dues paying members, that's why unions exist.

But.......in education it is the students who come in second to the teachers, even bad teachers, because that is not who the union's work for.

This was a ridiculous piece of garbage. It was obviously done by someone in the "freedom" group that has no idea what is really done for education by unions, or worse, this is one more example of a right wing million dollar group with an agenda posing as the good guy.
