Champion Jack Dupree - Mother-In-Law Blues LIVE VERSION

I have tried to upload this Champion Jack Dupree classic for over a year. Unfortunately, it's from an album he did on Atlantic Records and they still are steadfast on not allowing it to be shared. (Atlantic is part of the Warner Music Group) So I took it upon myself to scour the internet yesterday and within a few minutes, I found a live version of the song recorded in Great Britain in 1959. The quality is not great and Jack sort of gets the words a bit messed up but at least some of you will hear this song (or a facsimile there of) perhaps for the first time. On the studio recording, it sort of sounds like Jack was improvising so I'm sure he did 100s of versions of this song. This one is pretty close to the studio version. I hope you enjoy it!

I've heard this song by Jack Dupree several times in a club called "Bluesmeile" in Hanover, Germany, in the late 70th. Jack was co-owner of that club and made Hanover a blues town that time. He was a outstanding and open hearded person who had so much to give.

@cakowo It's too bad he didn't get the respect he deserved from New Orleans way back when. I'm not talking as an artist, but as a human being. I suppose most countries have times they would rather forget....and those that don't....they may be the ones to keep an eye on.

This is classic blues humor. Someone needs to make a collection of classic blues humor. Champion Jack, Roosevelt Sykes, Screaming Jay Hawkins - love the wife and mother in law jokes. Ernie K-Doe's Mother in Law should come right after this song.

What a bunch of jerks! Now why would they care since it is only a select group that loves this kind of music and banter with the audience? Geez...I will give them three Justin Beibers and a Britney Spearrs for one Jack!!! I will even throw in Elton John. Bet Dupree wasn't lip-syncing during the performance either.
