After flying down to Aldinga for breakfast in a Cessna 172P, we flew back along the coast to Parafield.

This video starts at Brighton Jetty, continues past Glenelg, Adelaide Airport, West Lakes to Outer Harbor. We were at 1000ft for the most part, climbing to 1500ft near Outer Harbor. I was after 500ft, but for some reason was only given 1000ft.

A pity about the cloudy weather, but still a very nice backdrop!

  • Did you end up going? I have done the reverse...came back coastal to Marino Lighthouse, then on the Hope Valley VFR route to Parafield. A little different, but very nice!

  • Nup...just a flight plan. You only need a slot time for doing aerial work at YPAD (touch and goes, missed approaches etc). Full stop landings at YPAD don't need a slot time either. Generally you'll either get held or diverted (eg Hope Valley VFR route) due to traffic arriving/departing from Adelaide. This was a rare occurrence where we didn't have any delays!
