Another old time Clawhammer favorite.
I ain't suppose to be playing by old lonesome self here, so
go break out them old spoons, bones, tin pot or better yet, an old fiddle and a geetar and join in.
Played on a Gold Tone banjo with a Whyte Laydie style tone ring and a skin head in Two C tuning. GCGCD

  • This version is in "Two C" tuning or GCGCD.

Lots of variations on old Sally Ann.

Mary Z Cox has a real nice version too that I hope to get up soon.

She plays it in Two C also but capoed second fret making it Two D.

There is a lot of "drop thumb" in Mary's version which gives it a unique sound.

My version here is from West Virginia inspired by Dwight Diller.

    Thanks for commenting.
