A video clip from the DVD series Spiritual Literacy: Reading the Sacred in Everyday Life illustrating the spiritual quality of forgiveness, recognized in all the worlds religions as one of the markers of the spiritual life.

The reading is from "Compassion in Action: Setting Out on the Path of Service," by Ram Dass and Mirabai Bush.

Spiritual Literacy: Reading the Sacred in Everyday Life, based on Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat's bestselling book, is a six-volume DVD series consisting of 26 meditative and soul-stirring half-hour films. Award-winning filmmaker David Cherniack has married aha! passages by teachers of all spiritual traditions to sense-luscious visuals and emotionally vibrant music to reveal the sacred meanings in today's world.

The series is organized around an alphabet of 26 qualities -- from attention to zeal -- for practicing spirituality in everyday life.

  • LOL, PersonalSaga! My sister will have to get a picture of George W. Bush! ;)

  • Why not since he inspires you. You are simply expressing gratitude and for this there is no need to call him a Guru or anything else.

  • Is it O.K. to consider Ram Dass a Guru because he has had such an impact on my life with his teachings and lectures. Even if he is only conveying someone's message is it OK to set up a picture of him on my altar

  • Great. Now I have to go buy a frame for a photo of Dick Cheney, and place the picture on my altar.

  • Good going.

Ram Dass deserves such detailed and elegant a presentation as this one, especially now.

You can contact him personally if you want to be in his online satsang.

You will be impressed at his growth. He gets better over time. WOW.

  • This is great - so beautiful.

    What an exercise !
