Horowitz seemed to be in top form here! Although I regret the fact that he limited his repertoire to a handful of pieces in his later years, his playing here is superb.

Even if my favourite pianist ever is Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli so close with S. Richter, I consider W. Horowitz a pure genius!!!!!

What a great concert this was in SF! I always loved how the hall lights would go down, the stage lights were on, and a dramatic silence would descend on the hall. But then - 3 minutes went by, no Horowitz. 5 minutes went by, no Horowitz. 10 minutes. 12 minutes. 15 minutes ... Then, the stage door finally opened, the audience burst into roaring applause - and Vladimir Horowitz entered, sat down at his piano and began to play for his audience. (He was a WONDERFUL showman!)
