Cairns make great pets! My dog Sofie is 5 years old, and while she went through her normal puppy phase (chewing up shoes, etc.) she is such an excellent little dog. She is very eager to please, and I've found that just making sure she knows how unhappy/happy we are with her behavior works wonders. Good luck with Bo :)

I just got a Cairn Terrier. We named him Bo and he is almost 3 months old. Do you have any suggestions for me and my family? Maybe anything about training them? Do cairns make good pets?

Thanks for training comment, they train for food. Be sure to get a good book, as Cairns, and all terriers are very stubborn. Do search for Cairn Terrier Club of America, for some great information. Do Bil Jac dry food, its the best. Cairns can get heavy if you don't maintain a good diet. Posting another video of these guys tonight.

I love Cairns! I might be getting one from the Rescue Dog thing. [ A Cairn that has been abused ]
