My bad re: my previous comment (that I've now removed), TodaysForgotten got there and didn't have the problem.
Anyway, I had the same problem as you. Perhaps it's when you kill him while he's still stationary on screen or take too long? Very strange glitch, though.

It happened 3!!!! more times. I hit him often after he lost all his power. Nothing. His pattern repeaded after a while and thats it untill timout. FORTUNATELY the 4th time just as I wanted to make a video from the curiosity - in the moment my girlfriend pressed record as a matter of fact - I got him. This is a glitch I did not like ;-) Happy Halloween.

holy crap this would of been nice when i tried it lol. A quicker way is to collect all the big crystals except for the yellow and make it to the final boss. Get him down to half of his yellow life bar, and then kill an enemy with ur rainbow to collect the last crystal, it will take the rest of his life.

You won't believe what happened to me guys: I made it to the final boss with 350 s or so - then smashed him down untill he had no power left - pretty much around the same time than in the video. With one difference: he did not go away - I had about 200 s left and hit him about 20 times more he just didn't die. Game over no achievement. I'm seriously pissed and have no idea what to do now. It's me kookyscientist by the way...

Sounds like some BS there. Just go at it again man. Surely, it can't happen again and it seems like you got it down now. Be thankful its not bubble bobble eh (: only takes 5 minutes.

I don't doubt it. That was a straight run from the last level. I didn't stop for crystals.
