vSpy song taken from a live show at the Tivoli nightclub in George St. Sydney in the '80's. The song is about Sally Anne Huckstep who was a tragic figure in the Sydney underworld who was unfairly treated and finally murdered by Police to keep her quiet about the information she had about organized crime in the city at the time.

  • What ever did happen to the great Aussie pub band? The eighties were a great time to go see an awesome band in a pub. Spy v Spy, Sonnyboys, Ratcat to name just a few. The kids these days being fed fake crap gangsta rap shit and faggot boy dance groups etc, just don't realise what they are missing out on. Real bands doing songs they wrote and that come from the heart, not just to some formula to sell to 11yr old girls and morons who can't think for themselves. I must be getting old :-(

  • agree.. remember 3 bands for $15! now its $400for 1 crap band

I think the issue is there are no venues left, or if there are, they want too much money or are seen as too small

Remember seeing Midnight oil, Rads, Spys, Angels, dozens more all at Caringbah Inn... and that area was TINY...

We need another massive concert just with 80's aussie bands.

  • I've never seen SpyvSpy live. Way back in around '87-88 a friend came back from Oz and said "hey, you should listen to this band" and went on to explain the story behind Sallie-Anne. I was immediately hooked and after all these years, I am absolutely rapt to find this video, long after losing the bootleg cassette I'd been given. Fantastic.
