Third time actually catching my gyaru-ness on camera! I do it a lot, but I just don't take pics of myself.

Film-testing my makeup again... unfortunately the light was a little less bright than I thought (again). I have on more makeup than it would appear, although it still shows up OK. I know this is the old style, but I'm doing this for a group thing because we're doing the extreme style... I just want advice on whether it looks authentic.

Since I'm already dark, all I did was use a *slightly* darker foundation (my summer shade) and added bronzer powder to set.

I'm not so much going for the "manba" look, but I think I should step up the makeup a little bit. (Especially since I forgot to do my waterline with black eyeliner and put on my falsies). Since I was just practicing, and I have an office job, my nails are not done. I only wear them when I'm actually going out. This was just a practice run, and I washed it all off after snapping a few pics of myself.

I think that next time I actually *may* go yamanba! I just gotta find the right hair for it...

Critiques are more than welcome from those in the know.

  • umm dont go out like this if u live in the US cuz they'll think the other way cuz they dont know this kind of style and they'll think ur crazy

  • @sweetstrwberry1 So? Maybe they'll learn about style from a country other than the one they were born in. I am not alone, sweetie--there's a lot out there that people don't have any idea about, and I enjoy being right there in the middle of it. ^_~*

I don't put too much stock in what other people think, because if I did I would never be able to be happy with myself--I'd be making myself crazy for real to do what other people think is right for me. I'm pretty sure I can determine that for myself.

  • You my inspiration! I always felt nervous to do this being an african american girl. Im always afraid of what people may think, but your video gives me the confidence to just do it :D Thank you!

  • @vikinglady09 Thank you! Be sure to check out Lishanala's channel. She's absolutely amazing, and is really nice. She'll give you tips on everything an Ameri-gyaru would want to know!

Just be confident, practice lots, and don't be afraid of color!

  • @thischickisaaight aww thanks too! I'm black british and i wanted to try this look out, :D do you think you can help with ganguro/manba aswell?

  • @FFVIIgrl I could help a little with basics, but Lisha's better at it because she knows more styles (by experience). You should check out her channel--I learned a LOT just from watching her and taking her advice.

  • You look cute!!! :D.

  • Yep, that's the style I'm going for.

I think I may try some of the newer styles, but I'm working on the wig for it at the moment, because I can't wear the colors I'd be using to work (office job).
