The company I worked for spent over $10,000 to install a remote control unit on our Liebherr HC300. It worked but we would loose contact with the remote receiver on the crane and you would have to try and re-establish contact, in the meantime you have a crane swinging with no operator input. Imagine a free load and you can't control it. We quit using it after just a short period of time. The only thing they could come up with was that passing ship's radar was making interfering with it.
