I watched a girl break her neck when doing a back handspring back layout. The sight was horrific. When I went up to the vault for a Yurchenko, I landed on the back of my head and almost broke my neck. The imagery of that girl breaking her neck consumed me and I had a panic attack. Gymnastics is dangerous. No doubt.
Your heart start to race, then you get all choked up and get teary eyed and pissed off at the same time, because you know, that you practiced that move 500 times, and you could have stuck it.
God its so deperessing, but it makes me want to get bettter and better.
@lanpingpug when she took off, she probably started moving to the left so much that she completly missed the beam and then she kicked out too late which is why she landed on her face.
That was Anika Reeder of Great Britain. She sat down on her first vault and it was hard to see what she did to her ankle on the second vault but the commentators seem to think she just twisted or sprained something as she hit the springboard.
omg i use to be really good in gymnastics i started since i was 4 and ended when i was 11 because i was on the high bar trying to jump to the other bar but i missed and fell on my back and my arm went backwards, i fractured my back and broke my arm and bruise my hand. I never went to gymnastics again.i stayed in the hospital for 3 weeks.

What happened at 1:25? Did she just misjudge the whole thing and hit the floor? She didn't land at all on the beam.
