Chris Wallace calls out Howard Dean on lying about the timeline of when FOX aired the Shirley Sherrod video. He calls FOX News and Glenn Beck a racist. It was posted online on Breitbart.com and BigGovernment.com. THEN the White House issued the orders to FIRE her, while at the same time, the NAACP issued a statement condemning her. It's really funny, the video CAME FROM the NAACP. The White House issued the orders "because she's going to be on Glenn Beck today." Glenn didn't even know about it until later that night (Monday, July 19th) on O'Reilly, Hannity & Greta Van Susteren. It wasn't until THE NEXT DAY, TUESDAY, JULY 20TH when Glenn devoted his show to the story by TAKING HER SIDE, AND DEFENDING HER. The broader topic was "Context Matters." Who jumped the gun? The White House and the NAACP "acted stupidly." Watch the video, even after Chris points out the error to Howard, he blindly rages on, clinging onto his LIE.

I don't think Glenn Beck is a racist. He's just a complete (slightly unhinged) money-grabbing fraud. Nor do I think most of the anchors, producers, etc, at Fox News are racist per se. But they are very willing to construct and intentionally allow the development of themes that can be construed as such. Because it keeps that section of the audience happy and therefore brings in what is most important to the network: dollars.
