Rail workers from across Britain protested in Lille, France on April 13, 2010 against dangerous EU rules opening up rail traffic to competition.
Some 200 RMT members were among trade unionists from 14 countries that converged on the European Railway Agencys (ERA) headquarters demanding that safety be put ahead of profit and the dangerous liberalisation of Europes railways.
They demanded a clear commitment from the ERA that rail safety and jobs will not be sacrificed in the interests of competition and profit, and for the sustainable development of publicly owned and socially responsible railways.
Video filmed and edited by Chris Kasrils.
I guess British Airways doesn't serve the public interest. Neither does Citroen. Apple company doesn't serve the public interest. Siemens doesn't serve the public interest either. Do you know who else doesn't serve the public interest? British Airports Authority. Only rich people go to airports. Poor people have to chase the plane down. Let me see who else doesn't serve the public interest. Sony. They only make tvs for the rich. Panasonic too. Oh I forgot Phillips.

Pull out the European countries out of the euro! Why do the British, German, French and all the others have to pay for the high-game played by Greek banks? Because they've comitted themselves to it through the euro! Pull out the European nations!""
