Where do the ideas in your organization come from? And from whom? If you're not taking advantage of new sources of inspiration - sources outside your organization, outside the management suite - to facilitate growth and change, you could be in trouble.
First I'd say that professor Ibarra's book is great. But in this video she's making something out of nothing, which is typical for academics. You're saying that being well networked is good for leaders? It's re-stating the obvious using 10x more words than necessary. Collaboration is good - that's a breakthrough idea? This video is loaded with business buzzwords. It's quite nauseating. What's the value of this twelve minutes? I'm not seeing it. It's a bunch of academic-speak.

When you don’t know what true for you, everyone else has unusual influence.
Values are deeply held personal beliefs that form your own priority code for living.
Values are the individual biases that allow you to decide which actions are true for you alone.
What are your values?
