Navy Health Care - Navy vs. Civilian Sector

There is a very bad trend Im seeing amongst all military, not just Navy, health professionals to bash on the civilian sector. The army has similar videos as well. The profit system motive is very good. Its the reason why we have the best civilian health care in the world. Ever wonder why we have the best technology? Its the basis for progress. The military benefits from that system and also a little tax payer dollars as well. ER civilian docs work hard and there is nothing "monotnous"..

...about civilian health care. Just walk into an ER on a weekend night and try to find something boring. The technology advancements are coming from the civilian side because there is an incentive to make them. Im afraid what these good military people dont understand is that there are costs to everything. The taxpayers allow them to focus on patients only. Nothng wrong to be compenstated. Thats one huge disadvantage that I see for people going straight from med school to the military.

But they're not contributing to the system at all! They go in, get what they need and leave just as quickly. They don't invent new techniques, they don't find a better way to do things. The military system is so rigid they can't innovate at all. That is the problem. The civilian sector has the freedom to change and improve.

@Icix1 They have to send their surgeons to a hospital with a high amount of trauma to make the best use of their time while training. Training without trauma patients is useless to the armed forces for war. Not all naval hospitals have the amount of patients to train surgeons for war.

TriCare should change their name to Don'tCare. All they do is hand out Ibuprofen for everything.

I worked with the 2 Ensigns (the one talking and the other sitting talking to her at the nurse's station) at NMCSD. Wow... small world, small Navy.

"monotonous civilian career"?
Last I checked the Navy went to the trauma center in the bronx to prepare their surgeons for Iraq. The navy doesnt know shit, they just skin knowledge off of the civilian healthcare system. The navy doesnt make new advances or make up new techniques, they just play follow the leader because they know their already outclassed, whats the point of going through the motions?

do sailors still get to wear summer whites and winter blues?

The only benefit military health care has over civilian health care is that its free, but there is a couple catches one, the health care providers are salary that causes problems on many levels two, unless you go to the ER you are going to have a hell of a time getting health care from someone who knows what there doing you are more than likely going to be seen by a corpman and they are not even as qualified as a nurse plus the only thing a corpman will do is give you motrin
NAVY RULES!!!!!
