I took my ham radio to Falls Lake State Recreation Area - Beaverdam on Rte 50 north of Raleigh, North Carolina.

I wanted to play with an end fed half-wave 20 meter wire antenna I had made. This is a battery setup, an old Japan Radio tuner and my IC-706MKIIG transceiver.

Prior to the filming I heard a British ham on holiday in U.S. Virgin Islands working DX, such as Japan, Angola, Greenland, Saudia Arabia. I could hear them too, so the band was open.

I worked a station in Washington state and then a fellow in Tasmania (Australia).

The video shows my set up and follows a YL (young lady) living in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
