PM Lee explained what the Singapore spirit is. He said the Singapore spirit is the spirit in each of us which makes Singapore work the way it does, and makes this country special. It is the determination that makes us press on when things are tough; the trust that keeps us close even when external forces threaten to split us; the competence, quiet pride and discipline that makes sure we do things right; as well as the confidence that we will prevail come what may. PM highlighted that we must maintain a Singaporean core in our society, stiffened by the Singapore spirit, and pass this spirit to next generation.
